A – We are a not-for-profit public charity with 501(c)(3) status. Our public charity status allows us to accept donations
from corporations as well as private individuals that may in turn take advantage of tax deductions for their support.
Q – What are the terms of service for your Board of Directors?
A – The terms of service are determined by the organization’s bylaws.
Q – Are there any paid employees?
A – Currently, all of the individuals on our board and various committees are volunteering their time to our cause. We are a 100% volunteer-powered organization.
Q – How are the funds raised by donations distributed to patients in need? Komen Foundation
A – Patients are referred to Friends In Pink through the Breast Health Navigator Program at the Martin Memorial Cancer Center. The Breast Health Navigator Program, a free program funded by a grant from the Susan G.
Komen Foundation, is a valuable support system that guides patients through the resources that are available for therapy, testing and treatments. When all other financial resources for an uninsured / under-insured patient have been exhausted, the Breast Health Navigator Program contacts Friends In Pink for assistance.
