Pink Tie Friends, Inc. formerly known as the Friends of the Breast Care Center of the Treasure Coast, is a not-for-profit (501c3) public charity formed by a dynamic, vibrant group of cancer patients, survivors and loyal supporters that have joined together to make a difference.
Inspired by the compassionate, competent care she received while being treated for stage-three breast cancer, Nancy O'Neill wanted to do something to give back. Women diagnosed with breast cancer who lack health insurance were identified as a critical need. Fueled by her desire and now a goal, Nancy was on a mission! She conceived the idea of a calendar featuring breast cancer patients and survivors portraying strength, determination, courage and hope. The idea of a gala to debut the calendar and promote knowledge and awareness followed. The Friends of the Breast Care Center of the Treasure Coast was established. The community responded.
Never in her wildest dreams did Nancy think that one idea could gain the force to change the lives of so many!
The volunteers and supporters of the Friends of the Breast Care Center of the Treasure Coast, now known as Pink Tie Friends, have raised funds and awareness through the Calendar Girls Fighting Breast Cancer, the Pink Tie Gala and the Pink Tie Music for Life Concert. Portions of the funds raised have already helped women through the financial burden of their treatment.
The future is brighter because of the caring attitude and strong commitment of so many.
Our Mission is to provide financial support to individuals newly diagnosed with breast cancer that are uninsured or under-insured.
Our Vision is that the strength and longevity of the organization will continue to grow, will enhance lives, and will replace the anguish of individuals who fear they will not be able to afford treatment for breast cancer with comfort and hope.
